How Is Buzz By Boisson Legal?

"Is This THC Legal" Yes! All our THC offerings are hemp-derived, which is federally legal as per the 2018 Farm Bill. There's two primary forms of hemp-derived THC: D9 (Delta-9) and D8 (Delta-8). While both produce a buzz, Delta-9 is typically the more classic 'high' sensation associated with traditional THC flower, whereas Delta-8 is a milder 'body euphoria' feeling and is extracted separately from Hemp distillate (not every state allows D8).

How Is Buzz By Boisson Legal?

If you’ve noticed THC products popping up everywhere lately—especially your Insta–you may think "wait, what? THC as in…weed? Come again?". Wondering how all this is legal, especially in states where recreational marijuana is still a no-go, is totally understandable.

So here's a crash-course on Buzz By Boisson and the unexpected politics that made our hemp-derived Cannabevs possible.

The Fateful 2018 Farm Bill That Opened the Door

Every five years(ish…) Congress passes the "Farm Bill", a massive–think "Trillion Dollars"--and incredibly dense bill covering everything from 'what grains you can feed cows' to 'what are farmers allowed to grow'.

In 2018, driven by farmers in places like Kentucky–Mitch McConnell's home state–Congress passed that year's Farm Bill, hoping to give U.S. farmers a new crop opportunity with hemp. They’d read enough about hemp’s uses for things like fabric, protein-packed seeds, and non-intoxicating CBD oil that they were all in. What they didn’t plan for? Creative minds who would use hemp’s THC content to make products with effects that feel just like recreational marijuana—without technically crossing any legal lines.

The Farm Bill defines legal hemp as anything from the cannabis plant that contains less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC by dry weight. What lawmakers didn’t quite foresee was that clever folks could keep products under this THC cap by weight but concentrate the cannabinoids to still deliver a powerful experience.

Full Spectrum Hemp vs. Marijuana: What’s the Difference?

The difference boils down to THC levels. While both hemp and marijuana come from the same cannabis family, hemp’s Delta-9 THC level is carefully controlled to stay under that magic 0.3% threshold. What’s left is “full spectrum” hemp, containing a blend of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids that naturally occur in the plant. Thanks to the entourage effect—where different compounds work together—the result is a smooth experience that feels surprisingly close to recreational cannabis but operates within federal law.
